Hey Guys! Today is an amazing day! It’s Super Bowl Sunday – so we get to see awesome commercials. It’s Groundhog Day – and Spring is right around the Corner! And it’s the first palindrome(02/02/2020 – reads the same forward and backwards… yes it’s a thing) day in 909 years! The most amazing news of all? You are alive! God has continued to give you breath, you woke up this morning with a fresh helping of the grace and power of God and an array of opportunities to live out the faith that He has given you and pour out your life into the lives of those around you. That – Is – An – Amazing – Gift!
Have you ever given someone what you thought to be a really amazing and useful gift only to see it still sitting there un-opened, un-used, and un-appreciated? Or how about this one dads… have you dropped some knowledge on your kids, given them life changing advise, and they walked away un-impressed and/or determined to learn things the hard way? Now imagine that gift, knowledge, and/or advise cost you everything – it was literally given at the cost of your life. I know that sounds like crazy talk, but that is exactly what God has done for us. Christ willingly laid down his place in heaven to come to earth – He then willingly lived the life of a humble peasant for 33 years – He then willingly paid the life debt of a bunch of rebels by letting himself be murdered in their place – all to give those same rebels – which include you and I – LIFE – everlasting eternal life and an amazing calling to a changed life of living out his legacy.
Men – I’m not saying all of this so that you can sit under shame and condemnation – I’m saying it to remind you of the amazing gift of Grace you’ve been given! I’m saying it to challenge you to seize today. Seize the opportunity God has given you today to live in His grace and power. Seize the chance He has given you today to pour your life into those you share your life with!
Don’t waste the gift of today!
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
– 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Have a great week!
In Christ – Cary
